Social Justice Sunday Statement 2006
Social Justice Sunday was celebrated on the 24th September. The Statement that marked this occasion is titled The Heart of Our Country: Dignity and justice for our Indigenous sisters and brothers. It reflects on Pope John Paul II's 1986 address to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia.
DREAMING FROM THE HEART
The National
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council is preparing for
the Dreaming from the Heart Assembly in Alice Springs in October.

MAKE
INDIGENOUS POVERTY HISTORY
The National
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ecumenical Commission, in conjunction
with the Social Justice Network of the National Council of Churches of
Australia, has produced an ecumenical CD-ROM for Social Justice Sunday
entitled Make Indigenous Poverty History. The resource applies
the Millennium Development Goals to the social and economic circumstances
faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
